Mr. Benson Pau Founder and Managing Director
Overlooking the business, running a charity and supporting affairs of the export industry are only some of the many accolades of Benson. Yet, as the managing director of Wings, Benson's focus remains in developing sustainable strategy from time to time for the business of Wings and affiliated companies. Following various stages of strategy planning and development, Wings is able to build sustainable competitive advantages to keep the business brands growing. We have always been proud of the fact that redundancy at Wings has never been happened during tough times in the past decades, not even in the recent global financial tsunami at the End of 2008.
"We strongly believe that the relationship with our stakeholders is not a 'zero-sum game'. In fact, our fair and long-term 'win-win-win' partnership philosophy has been an intrinsic element of our company from the day we started our business. With this solid foundation, we have built an extraordinary strong alliance with customers, suppliers, and our employees in the past decades. We apply this to face every challenge and most of the conflicts are resolved amicably and business decisions are made accordingly."
Besides, Benson also concerns about the development of the industry and has strong commitment in contributing to the society. Here highlight some of his social and industrial involvement:
- Chairman, Import/Export/Wholesale Trades Training Board of Vocational Training Council, 2010 to present
- Vice Chairman, Hong Kong Exporters' Association, 2008 to present
- Committee Member, Fair Organising Committee of Hong Kong Trade Development Council, 2007 to present
- Chairman, International Confederation of Childhood Cancer Parent Organisations, 2008 to present
- Chairman, Pau Kwong Wun Charitable Foundation, 1998 to present
In 2004, Benson has further acquired his Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) in his 40's from Richard Ivey School of Business, the University of Western Ontario, Canada.
Mrs. Ammy Pau Co-founder
Being the co-founder of Wings, Ammy involved in the development of toys business at the beginning and now her main duty is to advocate environmental friendliness in the company.
"It might sound silly that a SME can make a real impact to the environment. But yes, I do believe we should take part in protecting the environment even though this seems not to be a popular topic in our industry. In the first place, there were no role models which Wings could follow in the industry when we educated our staff to reduce waste in the late 90's. Now, environmental conservation means more than just reducing waste to Wings and this mindset is being implanted into people's heart."
Besides business involvement, Ammy has established the Pau Kwong Wun Charitable Foundation in 1998 as bereaved parents together with Benson aiming to raise Childhood Cancer awareness and support the relative families. Ammy hopes that Wings will become a role model in executing corporate social responsibility in the industry.
Mr. Sunny Yeung Head of Business
From a front-line merchandiser to a manager of a team, Sunny was the head of business who was in charge of major business activities at Wings. Throughout his 30 years' experience in working closely with many of the world's famous housewares brands in the American and European markets, he is proud to witness Wings evolving into the service leader in the industry.
"Besides mutual trust and commitment, what keeps our customers is we thoughtfully care about the needs of our customers' customers. Ensuring the highest quality of service is the common goal of the business team," Sunny proudly says.
It is not possible to stand rigidly in the ever-changing market but Sunny stays positive to it, "We cannot simply follow the industry norm of just providing one-stop service. Instead, we focus more on added-value services and its value to our customer. This is the secret of maintaining a steady business throughout all the ups and downs in these years "
Further to Sunny's extensive experience in the Export and Import Industry, he has also pursued a Master of Marketing degree from the University of Macquarie, Australia in 2005.
Unfortunately, Mr Yeung passed away as a result of heart attack on 27th July 2011. He is a truly remarkable person leaving us his persistence in pursuing excellence, his never-give-up attitude, and his model being a responsible person for us to learn from. He will be missed but not forgotten by Wings members.
Ms. Edna Chu Head of Operation
Edna has first joined Wings since 1998 as an administration manager and she pretty much enjoys working in such a fast pace environment. She thinks that Wings' differentiation factor is its focus on improving its operation.
Sharing about what her pivotal job is, Edna's work seems multi-aspect yet aiming at one thing, "We hope by implementing different means to drive more efficiency, in other words indirectly enhance more outcomes with less input effort."
In essence, she oversees the operation units of all supporting functions within the company, including data management, human resources, information system and quality assurance. "We strive to find new approaches and technologies to uplift skill sets and cultivate more value for our daily business operations, so as to make sure that top quality services are delivered on-time and cost-effectively to both internal and external customers"
Besides work, Ms Chu is very much engaged in her continuous education be it academic or pure hobby. In addition to her MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management, she also holds Master Degrees in both Corporate Governance and Quantitative Analysis for Business respectively.
